Renovation workshops

On the premises of the museum, in Chrcynno, there are professional workshops of reconstruction and repair of historic military equipment. This is where the Museum staff, qualified and having professional training in carrying out the restoration and maintenance works, restore museum exhibits to life – both their own and of befriended museums.

Works on their own exhibits:

  • renovation of Sd.Kfz. 250 and Sd.Kfz. 7 receovered in 2015 from Pilica
  • renovation of Sherman and Stuart
  • reconstruction of Stug III and refurbishment of T-34/76

More than 30 Museum specimens of the Polish Army Museum have been restored in MZTW’s workshops. Major works included:

  • Replacement of the whole exhibition of the Polish Army Museum, i.e. transport of all exhibits, including heavy equipment, from Aleje Jerozolimskie to Sadyba and the renovation and preservation of 26 cannons, mostly from the period of World War I, used in the 2nd Republic of Poland
  • Restoration, fitting with technical equipment and launch (so that it participated in the solemn parade of the Warsaw Uprising anniversary) of the insurgent armored vehicle “Kubuś”
  • Start-up, restoration of the Soviet tank T-34/85 model 44 from the monumental crust to the state of operational vehicle
  • Launch, restoration of the Canadian self-propelled Sexton -gun-howitzer
  • Restoration of the American medium Sherman tank (“Grizzly”) to the operational state
  • Reconstruction of an armored personnel carrier Sd.Kfz. 251 to operational state

For the Museum of World War II:

  • Cooperation in numerous preparatory works and outdoor events organized by the Museum of World War II
  • Adaptation works on T-34 tank
